"Main Dahej Hun" - BASF India Foundation supports the community in Dahej
The BASF India Foundation initiated a best-in-class CSR community development project to transform the village of Dahej into an open defecation-free village. During the closing ceremony of the 'Saksham' project, a documentary titled 'Main Dahej Hun' was launched by A Better Earth Foundation. This documentary showcased the challenges faced by the Dahej village, including industrial pollution, domestic garbage, open defecation practices, and a lack of awareness among community members, which resulted in the village being unable to breathe pure air. In response, the BASF India Foundation implemented targeted sanitation and development plans as part of the 'Gram Shobha' 2015 and 'SAKSHAM' projects to address these issues. The goal of these projects is to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management in Dahej Village, Gujarat.
